Converged Communication

In the past, voice, data and video systems were run through separate networks.  As voice systems started moving away from proprietary hardware in to software solutions,   new technologies led to the introduction of full featured integrated platforms where only one IP network handled voice, data and video.  This integration is defined as convergence when two or more technologies are combined onto a single network. What lies at the heart of convergence is Voice over IP (VOIP)- a data transport mechanism  used to deliver telephony over a data network  instead of using PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) lines.  This resource sharing allows for remarkable cost savings and efficiencies as a result of network optimisation. However, deployment of an IP voice network may require a significant investment in upfront capital costs, training and support due to its inherent complexities. This may deter many organisations from taking advantage of this technology.

To meet this demand for cost-effective, converged IP voice and data network solutions, KKE has developed a suite of voice and data solutions based on open standards that will help businesses of any scale with any number of disperse locations, achieve their communication objectives regardless of their operational or financial circumstances.

As a further step on convergence, KKE proposes solutions to integrate various forms of real time communications and collaboration applications so individuals can manage all their communications in an unified fashion, in both desktop and mobile environments. Unified communications defines the establishment of an integrated set of user interfaces for all communications services.  The benefits of unified communications can be summarised as follows

  • Integration allows receipt of voicemail, faxes and emails and on one single device.
  • Easy reach to any contact by one click through corporate address book.
  • Real time presence information to see who is available, busy or away.
  • Conference call or video conferencing options while on the move.
  • Advanced VoIP functionality on your desktop or mobile device through the application of soft phones.
  • Enhanced call recording capabilities.
